When Waring Hudsucker, head of hugely successful Hudsucker Industries, commits suicide. His board of directors, led by Sidney Mussberger, comes up with a brilliant plan to make a lot of money: appoint a moron to run the company. When the stock falls low enough, Sidney and friends can buy it up for pennies on the dollar, take over the company, and restore its fortunes. They choose idealistic Norville Barnes, who just started in the mail room. Norville is whacky enough to drive any company to ruin, but soon, tough reporter Amy Archer smells a rat and begins an undercover investigation of Hudsucker Industries.
The viewer of movies are the real critics. They expect more from movies based on real incidents. The challenges normally faced by movie makers while creating a movie based on real life are:
- Finding the cast who resemble the real-life characters.
- Creating the settings similar to the ones in which the real incident took place.
- Presenting the story in a creative way with twists. Since people know the plot in advance, the story has to be presented in a new way.
It is similar to recreating everything in a similar way. Working from scratch to create this is challenging. While creating a movie based on imagination, there is scope for simplifying or altering things. If you are an ardent movie watcher, learn the facts here now – on movies based on real life.
The Hudsucker Proxy was considered a flop by the mainstream. It cost 25 million to make and only made 3 million here in the US. The reason the budget was so large was because it called for alot of expensive things, duh. Like the sets they were huge and had to be built from scratch. It also had more special effects than any other of their films. The part where Norville jumps off the building that was all done by ILM. It was the largest budget they’ve ever worked with. They’d have to wait for Fargo to enjoy widespread success! Winona Rider said the one movie she really wanted but didn’t get was The Hudsucker Proxy. She adores the Coen’s work and really wanted the part played by Jennifer Jason Leigh. Do you think she would’ve been good? I don’t. If you look hard you can see HI in Raising Arizona wearing a Hudsucker Industries work suit.
