Synopsis:
When Waring Hudsucker, head of hugely successful Hudsucker Industries, commits suicide. His board of directors, led by Sidney Mussberger, comes up with a brilliant plan to make a lot of money: appoint a moron to run the company. When the stock falls low enough, Sidney and friends can buy it up for pennies on the dollar, take over the company, and restore its fortunes. They choose idealistic Norville Barnes, who just started in the mail room. Norville is whacky enough to drive any company to ruin, but soon, tough reporter Amy Archer smells a rat and begins an undercover investigation of Hudsucker Industries.
Did you know?
The Hudsucker Proxy was considered a flop by the mainstream. It cost 25 million to make and only made 3 million here in the US. The reason the budget was so large was because it called for alot of expensive things, duh. Like the sets they were huge and had to be built from scratch. It also had more special effects than any other of their films. The part where Norville jumps off the building that was all done by ILM. It was the largest budget they've ever worked with. They'd have to wait for Fargo to enjoy widespread success!

 Winona Rider said the one movie she really wanted but didn't get was The Hudsucker Proxy. She adores the Coen's work and really wanted the part played by Jennifer Jason Leigh. Do you think she would've been good? I don't.
